State Nursing Scholarships

Albert E. and Florence W. Newton Nursing Scholarship

  • Provide scholarships for residents of Rhode Island who are licensed RN seeking baccalaureate nursing degree, student enrolled in baccalaureate nursing program, student in diploma nursing program and student in two-year associate degree nursing program . The amount of award is $500 – $2,000.

Alice M. Yarnold & Samuel Yarnold Scholarship

  • College students and other individuals who are residents of the State of New Hampshire, who are already in the process of post-secondary education, may be eligible to apply to the Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship Trust.  The scholarships to be awarded are anticipated to range from $1000 to $5000 annually, over a one to four year period.

Arizona Nurses Foundation Academic Scholarship Program

  • The Arizona Nurses Foundation (AzNF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 to provide a resource for Arizona nurses and to improve health care in Arizona. AzNF provides scientific, educational and research resources dedicated to enhancing the experience and expertise of Arizona nurses and furthering the profession of nursing.
  • By providing scientific and educational opportunities and resources, the Arizona Nurses Foundation achieves its mission to enhance the development of Arizona nurses and further the nursing profession. AzNF offers scholarships to nursing students as follows:  $500 scholarship for associate degree students; $1000 grants for RN-BSN students; $1000 grants for direct entry BSN students;  $1000 for master’s students; and  $2500 for doctoral students for a total of $15,000 for each semester .

Big 33 Nursing Scholarship

  • Big 33 Scholarships provide financial assistance to high school seniors who exhibit excellence in a well rounded educational and extracurricular program. The scholarships are made possible by the Annual Big 33 Football Classic and its scholarship sponsors, and are administered by the Big 33 Scholarship Foundation.
  • Qualified to current high school seniors who: enrolled in a public or accredited private school in Ohio or Pennsylvania; who have attained a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA on a 4.0 scale) for the previous two academic years (grades 10 and 11); and planning to continue his/her education beyond high school in an accredited institution of higher education or technical school

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin Nursing Scholarship

  • The Wisconsin League for Nursing, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Wisconsin, and our other sponsors are pleased to provide two scholarship programs designed to help address the critical nursing shortage and provide financial assistance to aspiring nurses throughout the state.
  • The scholarships are for Wisconsin students who have completed at least one half of the credits necessary for graduation from PhD, DNP, MSN, BSN, ADN or LPN programs in Wisconsin. The school must be either a National League for Nursing (NLN) member or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Scholarships range from $500 to $1000 for selected candidates.

California Emergency Nurses Association Scholarship

  • To provide financial assistance to members of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) from California who are interested in pursuing additional education.  This program is open to ENA members who hold a current California RN license and are either enrolled or accepted in an accredited program.

Connecticut Chapter of HFMA Undergraduate Scholarship

  • The Connecticut Chapter of HFMA awards scholarships annually to individuals who are furthering their formal education in healthcare as graduate or undergraduate students based upon the quality of the written response to a question about a current issue in health care.

Connecticut League for Nursing Scholarship

  • The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Nursing Scholarship Program (NSP) application cycle is now open. The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Nursing Scholarship Program (NSP) application cycle is now open.  U.S. citizens (born or naturalized), nationals or lawful permanent residents enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a professional RN program (baccalaureate, graduate, associate degree, or diploma) at an accredited school of nursing located in a U.S. state or territory may apply.

Delaware Nursing Incentive Program

  • The Delaware Nursing Incentive Program funds Delaware residents (and state employees) attending or planning to attend an RN or LPN nursing program. There are also funds for part-time students. If you are willing to work for the Delaware government after you get your certification, you can apply for loan forgiveness in exchange for a certain number of years of employment. If you’re already an RN and want to get your Bachelor’s degree, you also qualify for this incentive program.

Erby Young Scholarship

  • The Erby Young Scholarship is available to an LPN who holds an active license in Missouri and is enrolled in an RN program in Missouri approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing or has national accreditation and is above the freshman level in an associate degree or diploma program or above the sophomore level in a baccalaureate nursing program.

Florida Nurses Foundation Scholarship

  • The Florida Nurses Foundation exists to promote nursing and delivery of healthcare through the advancement of research, education and practice. Each year, funds are provided to registered nurses and students for scholarships and research grants.  The FNF focus has evolved over time to include contributions to support nursing education and research and to provide assistance to nurses in need.

Freeman Nurse Scholarship

  • The annual Freeman Nurse scholarships are given to students enrolled full-time in a nursing program located in Vermont. The approved list of colleges and universities includes Vermont Technical College, Castleton State College, Norwich University, Southern Vermont College, and the University of Vermont. To be eligible, the student must also have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and have pledged to practice nursing at a facility in Vermont for two years following graduation. Selections for the scholarships are based on academic performance, leadership, and community service. The scholarship award is approximately $7,500. Applications are due in April. An essay must be included with the application packet. Students should contact their prospective colleges to learn more information about the scholarship.

Great 100 Scholarship Program

  • The Great 100, Inc is very proud to include a scholarship program to support registered nurse education as a component of our mission. Along with the monies approved by the Board of the Great 100, the Alumni Association graciously contributes monies for this program.
  • The scholarships are distributed on a rotational selection from schools throughout North Carolina from the ADN/Diploma, BSN, MSN as well as the PhD and DNP level.
  • Each school selects the recipient with the belief that the school will know which student is the most deserving of the scholarship. Suggested criteria are provided by the Board of the Great 100.

Jack E. Berger, Sr. Memorial Nursing Scholarships

  • The Jack E. Barger, Sr. Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund was created by the Department of Pennsylvania Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in 1989 to address the state’s nursing shortage. Established in the memory of Department Commander Jack E. Barger, Sr., more than 100 nursing students including active duty service members and veterans have benefited from this scholarship.
    Each qualified nursing students will receive $1,000 meeting the following criteria: The nursing student must be at least on active duty service member, U.S. veteran, or the child or spouse of a veteran or active duty service member; must be a resident of Pennsylvania; must be an undergraduate student; and required to attend the local VFW district meeting to accept the scholarship award.

Jennet Colliflower Keys Nursing Scholarship

  • The Jennet Colliflower Keys Nursing Scholarship is awarded to deserving nursing students attending accredited colleges and universities in Florida. Nursing students in their junior or senior year are eligible to apply for the $1,000 awards. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit, volunteer/work experience, financial need and commitment to a nursing career.

 Justine E. Granner Memorial Scholarship

  • Annual scholarship awarded to American Indian or other ethnic minority students preparing for a career in nursing, public health and/or related fields at a college or school of nursing within the State of Iowa. Must have a “B” or better scholastic average during high school and/or college up to time of application. Preference to graduates from Iowa High Schools. Financial need considered.

Kentucky Nurses Foundation Scholarships

  • The Kentucky Nurses Foundation offer scholarships to nurses to promote continuing education in the healthcare industry.
  • To be eligible for a KNF Scholarship, an applicant enrolled in a pre-licensure program (ADN or BSN), must have successfully completed 1 semester of nursing coursework or an applicant enrolled in a post-licensure program (MSN, NP, DNP etc.) must show evidence of acceptance in the program of advance study.

Laurence R. Foster Memorial Scholarship

  • The Laurence R. Foster Memorial Scholarship Fund is created in the memory of a long-time public health leader in Oregon. This scholarship awards $1000 to $10000 per scholar and is intended to help the students in Oregon who would like to pursue a career in public health.
  • Eligible applicants are those undergraduate students of nursing, medical technology, physician assistant who are entering their junior or senior-year health programs. A preference will be given to students who are already working in public health and graduate students who are majoring in public health. Qualified students of various race and culture are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.

Margaret A. Stafford Nursing Scholarship

  • Qualified for Delaware residents who have been accepted into an accredited college or university’s nursing program within or outside Delaware, with the intention of pursuing a career in nursing and ensuring that patient’s needs are a priority. A preference will be given to those students most in need of financial support.
  • This is a one-time scholarship of $1,000. The amount is subject to change in future years.

Maryland Legion Auxiliary Past Presidents’ Parley Nursing Scholarship

  • Open to Maryland residents who are the daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, step-daughters, step-granddaughters, or step-great-granddaughters of ex-servicewomen (or of ex-servicemen, if there are no qualified descendants of ex-servicewomen). Applicants must be interested in becoming a registered nurse and be able to show financial need. They must submit a 300-word essay on the topic What a Nursing Career Means to Me.

McLean Scholarship for Nursing and Physician Assistant Majors

  • The McLean Scholarship for Nursing or Physician Assistant Majors is provided through the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP).  The McLean Contributionship established a generous endowment in 1988 to help full-time undergraduate who are enrolled in a Nursing or Physician’s Assistant program.

Memorial Scholarship

  • Memorial Scholarships in honor of Margo Ballard and Vivian Meinecke are available to LPN students; RN students above the freshman level in associate degree/diploma programs; RN students above the sophomore level in baccalaureate nursing programs; or MSN candidates who have completed at least 15 hours of the courses required for the advanced degree and hold an active license in Missouri.

MLN Scholarship

  • The MLN Scholarship is available to LPN students; RN students above the freshman level in associate degree/diploma programs; RN students above the sophomore level in baccalaureate nursing programs; or MSN candidates who have completed at least 15 hours of the courses required for the advanced degree and hold an active license in Missouri.

Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania Scholarship

  • Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania (NAP), a non-profit foundation created to recognize and retain nurses in Pennsylvania, announces the availability of scholarship funds for individuals pursuing an education in nursing. The scholarships will be awarded in March of each year and are available to be used for tuition, books, and/or educational fees for that spring semester of each year.

Pauline Thompson Nursing Education Scholarship

  • The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania (NFP) has established the Pauline Thompson Nursing Education Scholarship to be awarded to a nursing student. The recipient will exemplify academic achievement, leadership and community service as required in the criteria. The scholarship is for $1,000.00. The Scholarship/Awards Committee of the Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania will review the applications.

Past Presidents Parley Nursing Scholarship

  • One $2,000 Nursing scholarship is awarded annually to a veteran or a veteran’s wife or husband, widow or widower, or child of a veteran of the World Wars, Korea, Vietnam Conflict, Grenada/Lebanon, Panama, and/or Persian Gulf. Applications may be submitted by students planning to enter or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school for the purpose of earning a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Registered Nurse or other recognized nursing degree.

Texas Profession Nursing Scholarships

  • For men and women who plan to become nurses (especially in rural Texas areas), Professional Nursing Scholarships (PNRS) offer financial assistance to students already enrolled on at least a half-time basis. The awards may only be used at in-state colleges or universities and the award limit is $3,000 per year. Your financial aid office should be able to provide you with an application.

Utah Nurses Foundation Grant-in-Aid Scholarship

  • Provides scholarship for Utah residents who has the following qualifications: have completed a minimum of one semester of core nursing courses prior to application, must have a cumulative grade point average equivalent to 3.0 or higher, for undergraduates, must be involved in the school’s chapter of the National Student Nurses Association, and must be a member of Utah Nurses Association for Registered Nurse completing a baccalaureate degree or advance nursing degree.
  • In the event of a scholarship award, the nursing student must agree to work for Utah Health Care Facility or Utah Educational Institution as a full-time employee for one year or part-time for a period of two years.

Virginia Leyda Roberts Nursing Scholarship

  • Awarded to a graduating high school senior pursuing an education in nursing at an accredited school of nursing; an impartial committee outside DAR judges the applications; must attend an accredited college or university in the United States; the award is $1,000.

Washington State Nurses’ Foundation Scholarship

  • All Washington undergraduate nursing students and Washington RN’s seeking graduate degrees in Nursing Education: If you are in need of financial assistance to support your education, then we’ve got great news for you! Scholarship applications are now available for both undergraduate nursing students and for registered nurses wishing to pursue a career in nursing education. These funds were raised at the “J&J Promise of Nursing for Washington” gala held in Seattle.

Wisconsin Medical Society General Medical Education Scholarship

  • Through a variety of funds, the Foundation offers scholarships to students in medical school or who are enrolled in allied health careers with direct patient care and identified as having critical workforce shortages. Currently, this limits eligibility to medical students, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and occupational therapists. You must have completed or be in the process of completing at least one year in one of the qualified programs listed above. Awards depend on the number of qualified applicants.

Wesley School of Nursing Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship

  • The Wesley School of Nursing Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship is available to residents of Kansas pursuing nursing studies. Preference for this award will be given, in descending order, to: graduates of the Wesley School of Nursing, the children of Wesley School of Nursing graduates, the grandchildren of Wesley School of Nursing graduates, or other relatives of Wesley School of Nursing graduates.

    I am a clinician I have been working in St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor for the last 7years. Currently I applied for Bachelor of science in Public Health in Victoria University Kampala Uganda.However I will not be able to raise all the fees.I beg for some financial support of about 2000-3000USD.
